Final Project Outline
The focus of my final project will be a GIF that I make of a ball that appears to be rolling across a yard. This GIF will include aspects of glitch art along with implementation of photo manipulation as to make the seeming normal photos that will be turned into a GIF appear to be more surreal. With the glitch art that I impose onto the GIF I hope to find a way to maintain the all of the colors in the photo while only slightly distorting the actual image with something that would seem almost as a hole that leads out of the picture/GIF. The photo manipulation that I incorporate into the picture adds a detail of wild life to suburban backyard making it seem as if the wild is coming to this backyard with a ball as the focus while the wildlife drags your eyes away and back again. The glitch art hole will be pulling the photo manipulated wild life into itself as if it were a black hole of sorts with this they will completely disappear from the GIF. The glitch art hole will also be used to drag the focus away from the ball and back to it as everything will be distorted except for the ball as it continues to move in the opposite direction of this hole. In order to keep the to keep this GIF minimalistic while seeming surreal the same images of the animals in the same position will be used in every frame but they will be further distorted as they move closer to the glitch art hole. As the wildlife is sucked into the abyss that is this glitch art the entirety of this picture that houses this ball will cease to be except for this blank canvas and the ball.
Looking forward to seeing the progress. As we discussed, consider adding much more steps along the evolution of the animation: The more layers you have, the smoother and clearer your animation will be. Whole groups of layers can be duplicated and looped, for instance, in order to make the sequencing of the GIF more nuanced. This can all be easily done in Premiere as well, if the project were to become more of a video piece.
